Little Delights!

Now I know I can get a little obsessed with certain garments.  But I have to say that Lingerie is worth every penny of obsession and we should all indulge every now and again!
I personally count a five drawer chest dedicated to such little delights.  Can you tell I just adore lingerie?!

Well, which girl doesn't and which man doesn't like seeing them on?  Or is that off?

You can't go wrong with the choices below which can all be snapped up now.  Go get 'em!

If only it were my size!  A show piece for certain.

These lovelies are in mint unworn condition!

Do you think the sleeping bunny comes with :)

Now this would make a lovely top for the coming summer months!

I know that Vintage Lingerie can be difficult and not everyones cup of tea.  It's not always mine either unless in immaculate condition or better still, mint condition.  This is why I shall be putting together another post very soon with some of my favourite new 'vintage' inspired pieces.  But for now I hope you have enjoyed my finds because I loved sourcing them!

Have a nice rest of the Bank Holiday weekend. xx

I don't even drive!

I was having a little conversation recently and well... I was recommended a Vintage Motor and a lovely one it was too!
A Mercury 1949 Custom

Here's a fact for you all -
In 1990, Mattel Hot Wheels created a model of 1949 Mercury with a chopped roof. It is called "Purple Passion". Purple Passion is one of most wanted and priciest Hot Wheels to ever be cast.  My little brother has Hot Wheels but he probably doesn't have this model though.

The 49 Mercury was also the car that James Dean drove in 'Rebel Without a Cause'.
Imagine it... James and I behind the wheels...

Have a look at this site if you like hot rods and vintage motors.  I liked looking through it even though I really have no idea about the ins and outs of motoring!

Kustomrama is a Wikipedia dedicated to traditional hot rods and kustom cars. It is an online encyclopedia covering all aspects of our kulture. Everyone is welcome to contribute and start new and interesting topics on the Kustomrama Wikipedia. Write about yourself, your company, your car, your favorite kustom or your all time automotive hero. All entries are welcome as long as they somehow relates to traditional Rods & Kustoms.

Some more lovely Vintage Advertisements
I have found myself a lovely model on eBay.  It sure is a beauty!  It does however need some work.  The Ad says it's a 49 but maybe it's a 50 or 51?  What do you think?

I should probably learn to drive first otherwise it would be such a waste!

Here are a few more Ads from the next couple of models down the years!
1950 and 1951

1952

I love Vintage Ads of all kinds but motor ones are definitely one of the highlights.
This really makes me want to learn to drive... or at least have someone who could drive me around!  I always imagined myself with the top down, sporting a head scarf with some sunnies on and bright red lips.
I'm hoping to see a real life Mercury 1949 Custom for myself in the summer.  Maybe if I'm really really good I will be allowed behind the wheels.
Just for a photo-op mind ;)

A post inspired by my conversation partner and I have learnt something new from it.
Who would have thought I would be so enthusiastic about motors!? xx

Göteborg, del tre - Through the key hole

Who lives in a house like this?

Well... actually, you know.  Let's meet the family!

Malin and Magnus
Elvis snuggling on my skirt and Nancy cosying up on my bed.
Two of their three babies.
There is two sides to Göteborg, with the river running right through it.  Its known as the city side and the country side, which is where we were.  These lovely little houses were built during the mid 1930's and were nicknamed the Sugar Cube Houses due to their block shape and simplicity.  At the time they were built especially to accommodate all of the workers at the nearby Volvo factory.  You will see below that many of those houses have now been expanded for modern times but still look as beautiful as they did way back when.

Let's take the grand tour!
The Entrance
The Kitchen
The Living Room
Love the radio. And see the wall mounted amp, it's actually a drinks cabinet!
On the left is a vintage TV set in a little cabinet.  You can just hear the crackling!
The planter, side table and shelves are all original 50's furniture.  Beautiful!
The Hallway
The Study... and my room for the duration.
The Basement - with original 30s wooden stairs leading down
to The Bettie Page Room and the Restroom.
In the restroom, they uncovered these amazing original tiles to die for!

These are a few other little things that I loved dotted around...

One of Malin's Birthday presents - a pair of vintage 40s speakers.
An outdoor log shed which made me smile.
Original Light switches in all variaties
I also sampled these special Easter buns filled with cream and almond paste.
The bun is all cinnamony!

I had such a wonderful time and absolutely fell in love with their beautiful home.
When I grow up I want to have a home to call my own and to decorate it with vintage furnishings and  my dreams desires!  I hope Malin and Magnus' home has been as much of an inspiration to you as it has been for me. xxx
