Happy Belated 1st Birthday!

On 21st January 2011 I posted my very first blog entry right here on The Dressing Parlour.  As of Saturday gone we were one!  I had meant to post on Saturday but my whole weekend was consumed and I was not once near a computer I could use for just a moment.

Who would have thought the year would go so quickly and that I would actually have anything to write.  It seems once you start blogging, for me anyway I found there was so much I could waffle on about there was no going back.  Hopefully there will be a second anniversary.

Thank you Ms Monroe

I know I talk about them a lot but...

I just picked up a bargain from the Miss L Fire sale!  I had wanted these lovelies since I first laid eyes on them but didn't really need them so was trying to put it off (that was actually really good of me).  Well, it was a good call this time as I have now purchased them on sale.  Whats more they were the last pair in my size, so just in the nick of time it seems!

Meet Ivy, my new booties!
£64.99 now £30

Whilst I was there anyway I thought I would pick up my belated Christmas gift from my sister also.  She knew I wanted to buy a handbag as part of my gifts from her but I left it a bit too late for the Christmas deliveries and well, just didn't get round to it until now it seems.  I am really excited to be receiving this as I wanted this more than all the other handbags I have bought before it since setting my sights on Prom Date.

You will most definitely be seeing me around town this spring/summer sporting this with an array of outfits!  So very very versatile indeed.

Prom Date
Not in their sale but worth every penny :)

Yay to belated gifts!  Go take a look at their shop before all the goodies are gone.  Because you know what they say.  Once they're gone, they're gone!  xx

Miss L Fire and Ophelia Fancy does Sample Sales... WooHoo!

A little before Christmas the wonder that is Miss L Fire held a sample sale.  It's always a bad idea for me to attend a sample sale.  Especially one that lets you use your card.  Red Alert!

Here's a little look into their office.
Who wouldn't want to be surrounded by this at work?

I also finally met the lovely Sammi whom I have corresponded with via email on numerous occasions.  Pop over to her blog all about her wedding planning and general goodness.  Oh and you should definitely visit the Miss L Fire webshop as they are currently having their sale and it's worth a look or two :)

Right.  Let's get down to business.  The shoes!
Try and guess how much these all came to?

Meet... Lila

Landgirl

These I bought for my sister as part of her collection of Christmas presents.

They have the best lining and the softest leather you'll ever touch!

And finally... Issadora

Well?  What do you think?
This sample sale was one not to be missed and word on the 'street' is that they will be holding more of these this year.  I'll keep my ear out for sure!  Hope you love my new shoes.  I haven't road tested them yet but will do very soon.

Whilst I am here I wanted to tell you about another sample sale on Saturday 21st Jan, 11-6pm.  One I cannot attend due to location but I think it's worth a look if you're round that way.  Ophelia Fancy make some wonderful frillies that will make you squeal!  Read more about it on their Facebook events page.  Apparently every item will be £5 or less.

Take care,
Alison xx

Ps. The magic number was £60.  Can you even believe that??

My First Year as a Blogger

In my first year I have racked up 65 posts.  That's not bad at all.  Especially since I've had quite a busy year and blogging takes a lot longer than I could have ever imagined it to.

Highlights of the year for me has been all the events I have attended, though not all written about unfortunately.  Delving into events again; namely 'A Vintage Tea Party' but more to come.  Some of other people/friends projects I have been lucky enough to be involved with.  The Book(s).  And starting up my blog and brand; The Dressing Parlour of course!  This ultimately has lead me to push myself forward more and to get out there to do more things.  Things that I love and things that, well, make me a happier person.

I would like to carry on blogging as long as people like to read what I write.  At the moment it seems I have so much to say, I just don't always have the time to post them up.  I would like to manage that better in this new year because I don't want to miss anything out again.  Not if I can help it.  This is almost like a diary and who would want to miss a chapter of their life out of that?

I would like to thank everyone who has stumbled across my little old blog and stayed a while.  I will make a birthday post when the date comes.  Maybe a Birthday give-away post?  What to give...?

I leave you here with some of my favourite things of my year in the order that they happened.  xxx
